Two surface languages
Soft-touch reads premium to the hand. Matte keeps type readable with low shine. Both are lamination families; available stock varies by printer.
When soft-touch
Gifting and beauty/perfume shelves where touch matters. Risks: fingerprints, cost, uneven availability.
When matte
Higher volumes, clear typography, tight budgets. Common on food and electronics accessory cartons.
